HIGH STREET fashion retailer TD9 Menswear is expanding into tartan and into the shop next door.
Since it opened in February last year, following the closure of David Thomson & Son, TD9 has been hugely popular with fashion-conscious Teries looking for the latest trends in casual and formal wear.

And now proprietor Mark Lyons is hoping for the same success with the kilt shop next door. He told the Hawick News: "I was approached by the owner of Tyneside Tartans who was going to close it down, partly because people were starting to take their business out of town, so I decided to make my move into the tartan trade."

He added: "I have improved the hire stock, and prices are now more in line with my competition, so hopefully with the support of the Hawick people and the return of customers, I can keep it running."

Mark also has plans to design his own unique and contemporary TD9 tartan.
