Having earlier been assaulted, Jay Gallagher vented his anger on two shop windows, causing over £1,500 damage.
The 19-year-old of McLagan Drive, admitted kicking a window at Poundstretcher, causing £612 damage, and another at Dorothy Perkins, causing £952, in the High Street on February 8.

Procurator fiscal Morag McLintock said police pursued Gallagher after seeing him kick both windows, then run off.

Defence agent Rory Bannerman said his client had been assaulted shortly before.

"He decided, rather than fight back, to kick inanimate objects," said Mr Bannerman.

He said the offences happened shortly after midnight and Gallagher had been drunk at the time.

Sheriff Kevin Drummond deferred sentence for reports until April 1, warning Gallagher he was considering an ASBO (Anti-Social Behaviour Order).

"You have had nine fiscal fines in the course of 2009 and now have done over £1,500 damage. You just don't seem to be getting the message," he told the accused.
