Scocha headline a special Flodden anniversary musical extravaganza just a few miles from the 500-year-old battlesite.
The line-up for Folk Rockin 4 Flodden, alongside Norham Castle, also includes Dave-Hull Denholm, Charlie Harcourt and Steve Daggett from 1970s folk/rock group Lindisfarne, Derek Meins and The Small Hall Band.
And Teri folk ‘n’ roll frontman Davie Chapman can’t wait to hit the stage.
He said: “It’s really exciting to be playing in the area of Norham Castle and to be part of the Flodden anniversary and celebrations is great.
“I’m really looking forward to it. It should be a cracking gig.” The event is to be held on Saturday, September 7, just two days before the 500th remembrance of the infamous battle.
Lisa Johnson of the organising committee said both sides of the border are well represented.
She added: “Scocha are great because as well as being really popular they make reference to famous battles and Scottish history during their shows.
“Lindisfarne are the English equivalent and it’s great that Derek is coming up to perform as he’s a local lad who has done really well.”
Folk Rockin 4 Flodden starts at 6.30pm and tickets priced at £20 are available from www.borderevents.co.uk.
