Drumlanrig school has celebrated the excellent work of support staff as part of Unison’s Stars in our Schools scheme.
The children gathered in the main hall for a special assembly last Thursday to recognise the fantastic contribution made by non-teaching staff to the children’s education.
Head teacher Jeanette Gordon said: “We wanted our staff to know that their hard work is very much appreciated. Our staff set high standards as they want to do their best for the children.
“Everyone has an equally important part to play to ensure the children get the best support available.”
The assembly was also an opportunity to celebrate 20 years’ service at the school for janitor Michael Tierney.
“The popularity of Mr Tierney was clear to see from the smiles and cheers he received from children and staff,” added Mrs Gordon.
