Kevin McAllistar from Cramlington wins the Pringle of Scotland 110-metre final at Hawick Common Riding Games in June 1986, ahead of Scott Brodie from Kilmarnock, and Brian Woods, of Jedburgh.

It was a hotly-contested title, with no fewer than 19 heats, and there are a few open mouths in the crowd to testify to the speed of the runners in the final! There was a big turn out at the Volunteer Park, but Hawick’s only prize-winner was Glyn Davies, who finished second in the 200 metres handicap.
