Library launches download service

A BRAND new service has been launched at the library.

The eaudiobook is an electronic talking book that can be downloaded and listened to on any MP3-compatable device, such as a PC, iPod, walkman, Kindle or smartphone.

They can also be downloaded onto a USB memory stick using the people’s network public computers in the library.

A spokesperson said: “This online service offers free downloads of popular fiction and non fiction eaudiobooks for all the family to enjoy from the comfort of their own home.

“Browse, borrow and download a digital eaudiobook without leaving home. Simply visit the library catalogue www.scotborders.gov.uk/libraries and select from the extensive list of bestselling eaudiobooks from Bolinda Digital.”

To get started you need your library card number and PIN, access to the internet and a computer or suitable portable device. You also need to sign up to use the service on the Bolinda Digital website where the eaudiobooks are held.

If you do not know your PIN or you do not have one, contact staff at the library and please have your library membership card handy.

If you are not a member of a library then go along to the library and find out more about joining.

The spokesperson added; “It’s all free. You have access to the public computers, thousands of books and now this new eaudiobook service. What are you waiting for!”
