John’s focus on image conversion

CAMERA CLUB: John Hill presented a practical demonstration on the conversion of colour to black and white images by means of computer technology, commencing with so-called “non-destructive” methods such as grayscale, hue and saturation and gradient maps, as well as other methods including channel mixing. The show concluded with a short sequence of converted images featuring African elephants, lions, giraffes and many more, by professional wildlife photographer Nick Brandt.

The meeting on January 10 is billed as ‘Ron’s Scary Munros And Other Hills’, by Ron Bell.

Members are reminded to submit entries for the ‘Flora and Fauna’ competition at this time.
