ANDREW Shields is preparing to make a huge song and dance of his academy’s birthday celebrations, writes Gavin Gibbon.

The Shields Performing Arts Academy is marking its fifth anniversary with an eagerly anticipated show entitled ‘Back in time’.

It will be a landmark occasion for Andrew (pictured), who set up the group in 2008 at the age of 16.

And it will include performances from members as young as four-years-old upwards.

Andrew said: “The show will celebrate the achievements of the Shields Performing Arts Academy over the last five years, with old and new students going through old and new routines with a few retro classics thrown in, and special guests also appearing.”

Despite his young age, Andrew has already gained a wealth of experience through his dancing, travelling to China in 2008 to work with the homeless and performing at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India.

Tickets for the anniversary show are available from Think Fitness, £8 adult, £4 kids. Doors open 5.30pm, show starts at 6pm.
