Chorus set to hit all the right notes at local Citadel

The Salvation Army’s East Scotland Youth Chorus will visit the Hawick Corps next weekend.

The Chorus comprises Salvation Army members aged 12-25 from around Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife, who meet once a month to rehearse. And this is their first visit to the Borders.

The Saturday evening will feature the Chorus in a cabaret and cocktails format, with non-alcoholic cocktails and light refreshments served in cabaret-style seating, as well as a variety of songs.

Corps officer Captain Steven Turner said: “We want to invite school and college students to come and be inspired by these young Salvationists, and in turn to encourage the chorus in their musical journey. Though we’ll also welcome grannies and grandpas.”

Members of the Chorus will lead the Sunday morning worship meeting. At 4pm there will be a Songs of Praise-style service: with music from the Youth Chorus and congregational singing.

Tickets from Captain Turner on 375075.
