All the fun of fair at carnival

BURNFOOT is putting the final touches to what promises to be another cracking carnival.

The event gets under way at 11.45am on Saturday with the traditional fancy dress parade from Henderson Road, led by the Hawick Scout Fellowship Pipe Band, Carnival Queen Iona Menzies and Cornet Greg Lowrie, Provost Ron Smith and Cornet Ross Nichol and his Lass Gillian Smith.

At the carnival ground there will be a funfair, inflatable slide, magician, face painting and a car boot sale. Refreshments are provided by the YM in the beer tent, while food will be available at stalls from Sainsburys, Baxters and the New Delhi Restaurant.

While live entertainment includes performances from the Honey Badgers, Humble Scribes, She and Still Whisky as well as displays from Got2Dance. Entry is £3 for over 12s and 50p for kids.
