Festival tickets go on sale

TICKETS for this year’s eagerly anticipated Reivers Festival will be on sale on Saturday.

It comes as the packed programme for the 2013 event is revealed.

Hit folk ‘n’ roll band Scocha, pictured, will open proceedings on March 22 with a concert in the town hall (£12 main hall and £10 balcony).

And there will be a special appearance of Vamm – Catriona MacDonald’s new fiddle band – the following day in the Old Baths (£13, table seating available).

Sunday, March 24, sees the return of the popular Reivers Walk, followed by lunch and a concert in Roberton Hall (tickets, £8 including lunch, must be purchased in advance).

On the same day, Professor Douglas Gifford, representing the Abbotsford Trust, is the guest speaker at the literary high tea at Hawick Rugby Club. He will speak about the links between Sir Walter Scott and the Border Ballads (£8 including high tea).

Tickets will be available at tomorrow’s fund-raising coffee morning in Trinity church hall (10am and noon), admission £1.50.

Donations can be handed in to Trinity hall from 9am onwards on Saturday or call 372962 and collections can be arranged.
