A was fair interesteed ti read in the paper last week aboot the pair o' white thrushees fri Siberia that was spotteed in a gairden in Twirlees Terrace.
Efter readin aboot eet other folk hev been speakin' aboot eet an' reportin' that they've seen thum ana. Twae muckle big yins appairently, compared wi the thrushees oo usually sei in oor gairdens.

This hard wunter weather oo'v been hevin' must be h
ard on the puir wee 'hings for they heh'i work that much harder ti find food. If ee wa'i' help thum they'll be fair tane oan wi what'iver eev got for thum. They erni that fussy this time o' year. Mind, eer better off gee'in thum hings ee can hing up, like seeds and nuts an' the like, or mibee a bit breid, though A'm telt if it's ower dry it'll swall up in their stomachs. An' if ee'v got a burd table it can keep the cats off an' catch ony seeds that fa' doon, so's ee de attract mice or rats.

That's the hing aboot cats. A fair like thum, an' A'm gled ti 'hink they keep the mice an' rats away, bit sei when they gaun for the wee burds? The bizzums. Course A'm erni an expert on lookin' efter wild burds bit A'v been readin' aboot eet an' A juist thought A'd pass eet oan, on behalf o' oor wee feathered freeds, ee ken?

Onywei, this weather oov been hevin. It's a' right for maist o' us yins whae can git inside be the fire an' bide warm. Bit what aboot the burds? There's fer ower much sna for thum ti find a cosy wee bush ti shelter under. Maist o' thum are solid ice. Mind, a suppose thone igloos the Eskimos bide in er made o' ice an' they're meant ti be warm an' cosy.

Speakin' o' which, what a lot o' igloos oov hed in the toon. The streets hev been littered wi thum. A'm telt there's cars underneath thum bit a de ken mei, mibee the bairns hev been makin' wee gang huts oot o' the sna'. They'd better watch oot though for the way the weather's been it'll be Pickin' night afore oo thaw oot. Global Warmin? What er they oan aboot? A hink it's gaun the other way. Howts if it disni thaw oot be then, can ee imagine big Ronnie Nichol an' his fine band merchin' wi their fifes to the tune o' the drums an' the rhythm o' their wellies clompin' throw the sna'. Of course no, A'm gittin cairried away. Which brings is back to thone twae thrushes in the gairden at Twirlees Terrace. They must hev gotten cairried away be a strong wund ti end up here for wunter. Mind, if they're the kind o' burds that like the cauld, ee can understand eet. Juist shows ee eh? For years when it's been really cauld oov been sayin' ti oorsels, "Mun it's that cauld it's like Siberia." An' now burds in Siberia are sayin' "Lets flyoffski, it's that cauld it's like Hawick."
