Pupils head for France on ski trip

AS the town recovers from the recent blizzards, a group of high school pupils are about to embark on a skiing trip to France.
Seventy-one pupils, eight teachers and seven adult family members will leave from the Haugh tomorrow morning headed for the week-long stay at Alpe D'Huez.

It will be the second time the school has visited the resort, which has the longest run in Europe.

Trip leader Graeme Cockburn said: "The gentle slopes on the outskirts of the resort provide the perfect terrain for beginners to build their confidence on and intermediate skiers will find plenty to entertain themselves with on the network of blues and reds."
