I am wondering if I have any distant relatives living in the Hawick area and, if so, I would be delighted to hear from them to exchange family tree information. I recently visited Hawick for the first time and found the address where my mother was bo
rn in 1912, at 6 Green Terrace. My mother's name was Esther Reid (nee Botwright). My grandmother was Isabella Botwright (nee Richardson). My grandmother's parents were David Richardson and Esther Cairns Richardson (nee Reid).

My grandfather Harry Botwright was a Suffolk man serving in the Army and stationed at Stobs Camp when he met my grandmother Isabella. They had twelve children – the two eldest were born in Hawick – Ollie in 1911 and my mother in 1912.

I also visited two lairs in Wilton Cemetery where eleven family members are buried. These are Esther Reid, 51 years, buried 1908; Ollie Botwright, 5 weeks, buried 1911; Thomas Richardson, 5 weeks, buried 1914; James Craig Richardson, 5 weeks, buried 1916; Dorothy Edith Purvis, 21 years, bureid 1944; David Richardson, 48 years, buried 1903; David Richardson, 2 years and 6 months, buried 1909; Robert Richardson, six years, buried 1925; Mary Richardson, 73 years, buried 1953; Walter Richardson, 82 years, 1962.

I have been told that my mother's sister Isabella known as Isa (born in Woolwich) lived in the Kelso area and at one time her son lived in Hawick, but I do not know their surname.
