Could I, through your columns, just mention that although the council workers have done a sterling job throughout the terrible snow and ice in keeping main roads open, I am puzzled as to why when there is two community hospitals in Hawick, namely Hawick Community Hospital in Victoria Road and Crumhaugh House Hospital, that only the road to Hawick Community Hospital road was cleared for access for patients and patients relatives.
They are both NHS-run hospitals and Crumhaugh House has more beds than Hawick Community Hospital, and also does all the meals for Hawick Community Hospital, yet the road from the Loan along Drumlanrig Place and Trevelyn Terrace wasn't even touched, making it impossible for a lot of patients' relatives to visit, and for patients to be transferred in to the hospital (had the need arisen).

Let's hope that should there be more snow that roads to both our community hospitals are cleared enough to provide access for patients and relatives etc.
