I read with interest of the plans for eight flats and a house to be built on the former site of Robert Mitchell's Glazier premises.
I hope that the powers that be will take photographs of this building before it is demolished, as in the past many buildings in the town have been removed and altered and no record for posterity remains.

It brings to mind when the workshop of Armstrong the joiners was pulled down in Wilton Lane and I could not get a photograph, so another old building was gone.

Many years ago, at a local council meeting, it was agreed that a photographic record should be made but I don't think this was ever carried out, so many old places are now away.
