May we, through your columns, say a huge thank you to all who helped at last month's Scottish/Italian night in the Catholic church hall, which raised a superb £1,000 for the youth pilgrimage to Rome in June.

The
generosity of friends, family, parishioners, townsfolk and local businesses was overwhelming and through everyone pulling together on the night, a staggering £1,000 was raised. Special thanks must also go to Sonia, at Sonia's Bistro, for her generous donation of lasagne – delizioso!

The evening would not have been possible without the bright young entertainers on show, which just goes to prove, without a doubt, that 'Hawick's Got Talent!'

Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all who made the event possible – what a brilliant and uplifting example of community spirit!

On behalf of the Reaching Out Group of the Congregational Community Church, I would like to thank the Panto Group for its kind donation of £200. The money has been used to support our fun and games children with an art project, as a result of which they have produced wonderful banners which are on display in the church.

I would like to thank everyone who generously sponsored me on my 10k run in Edinburgh on Sunday. More than £400 was raised for CLIC Sargent, the charity which supports the families of children diagnosed with cancer. Any further donations would be greatly appreciated, just call in to Touch Wood in Croft Road.
