Just a word to thank local councillor Stuart Marshall for his swift response to my telephone call.
He phoned me on the evening of May 12 about my complaint regarding the grass at the front of my house which desperately needed cut. It seemed to me that the workers who were awarded the grass-cutting contract didn't like the hills in Hawick.
Mr Marshall emailed (SBHA chief executive] Janice Cambridge at 7.53 the following morning (May 13) and came to my house at 8.30am with a copy of the letter.
Lo and behold at 2.55pm the same day, workmen arrived and finally cut the grass. So thanks again Mr Marshall. You said you would work for the people and you have kept your word.
PS – Whose bright idea was it to hand the contract to them anyway?
