'Sheer neglect' of Teviot river banks As a member of the public I recently attended a meeting of Teviot and Liddesdale Area Committee, at which an interesting report was given on 'Flood Alert', in which a voluntary group in Hawick is involved.

The trouble with closing tax office I read in last week's Hawick News that HM Revenue & Customs proposes to close the tax office in Bridge Street and the one in Galashiels.
