STUART Renton was the winner of the inaugural Colin (Plug) McColm Memorial Trophy over the Vertish Hill Golf Course with an astonishing 88 (45) 43!
Despite claiming he doesn't play the sport, Renton walked away with the trophy and a voucher for a four-ball at the Vertish.

Runner-up was Alistair Willison, who won a bottle of malt whisky for his dad, and Andrew Maltman finished third, receiving a bottle of spirits and a case of lager.

There were also two jerseys from Hawick Knitwear won by Neil McColm and Jodie Easton for finishing closest to the pin at the eighth and 18th holes.

A total of 26 people teed off at the first for the Hawick Legion FC Golf Day, although two failed to complete their round.

A big thanks to all the sponsors as well as Hawick Golf Club.
