FORMER US Vice-President Al Gore's acclaimed documentary about global warming opens this weekend's film programme at Tower Mill.

Tonight's showing of the double Oscar-winning 'An Inconvenient Truth' also forms part of the Green Heart of Haw
ick environmental weekend, and the screening will be followed by a talk and discussion about issues raised in the film.

The documentary, presented by Al Gore and directed by Davis Guggenheim, refers to the brutal 'truth' about climate change in what is an impassioned and forceful movie, that won Academy Awards for best documentary feature and for best original song.

The pace quickens tomorrow night with the screening of dance flick 'Step Up 2: The Streets', the sequel to 2006 movie 'Step Up'. Rebellious street dancer Andie lands herself a place at the elite Maryland School of the Arts, and romantic sparks fly when she joins forces with the hottest dancer Chase to compete in an underground dance battle.

Film-goers should prepare for what is said to be a truly disturbing horror movie on Thursday night, with the showing of Spanish substitled 'The Orphanage', which centres on a woman who brings her family back to her childhood home to open an orphanage. But her son soon starts to communicate with invisible new friends in this ghost story which terrifies through atmosphere, pacing and storytelling.
