ENTERPRISING high school pupils are hoping their Ken the Horse cook book has all the right ingredients to help them build a successful business.
The popular figure has been brought to life in a series of cartoon strips, which are being featured in the Hawick News until the end of the year.
And he has now turned his attentions to helping Teries with their culinary skills, with a cook book t
hat includes recipes from well-known faces from throughout the town.
The initiative was launched by pupils on the Young Enterprise Company Programme, who were tasked to set up their own business. They have since elected a board of directors, are raising share capital, and are marketing and financing their product.

And their company, Double I, are confident that Ken the Horse can take them all the way to the Scottish finals in Glasgow.
Managing director Ross Mitchell said: "It has been hard but I hope everything goes well and hopefully we will get to Glasgow."
While marketing director Hope Jeffrey added: "I think we've got a good group this year. We all get on really well and are making good progress. It was hard work but I'm proud of everyone, sales are coming along well, and I think were going to have a good turnover. "
The cook books, priced £6 per book or £5 per book if you order two or more, are available from Turnbull's, the community hospital, Eden, Sarah's Café, Brydon's, Keystore, thinkfitness, Burnfoot Co-op, high school office and Londis.
Email orders can be sent to kencookbook@yahoo.co.uk. Orders outwith Hawick will have a postage charge.
Some of the money raised through the cook book will be going to the BLISS charity.
