CELTIC legend Murdo McLeod has been confirmed as this year's special guest at the Hawick Shamrock Supporters' Club dinner.
McLeod – whose career spanned three decades and included spells with Borussia Dortmund and Hibernian, as well as his nine years with the Glasgow giants – has made a name for himself as a respected media pundit since hanging up his boots, and his appearance is likely to spark a ticket rush for the event.

Joining McLeod at the function – which will take the form of a three-course meal and disco at Hawick Rugby Club on Friday, February 5 – will be Galashiels' latest singing sensation Stevie Dodds, who is set to hit the high notes during what promises to be an unmissable night of all things Celtic.

Tickets for the dinner, which kicks off at 7pm, are £12.50 and are available from Scott Richardson on 07786 225941 or Gordon Solley on 07886 620035.
