‘Amazing’ support for charity coffee morning

Sarah’s Angels would like to thank everyone for their donations of time, money, crafts and delicious cakes for Saturday’s coffee morning. Thank you also to the local businesses that supported us, the generous public, and family and friends who helped on the day. With everybody’s support we have so far raised an amazing £1,540 for Cancer Research. We are overwhelmed with this amount, so a massive thank you to everyone for chipping in. There was not a single piece of cake left at the end!

Environmentalists have been campaigning to save our dwindling bee population for some time. Only this week, though, they may have made their most significant breakthrough yet, after the European Union voted for a two-year ban on neonicotinoids – the nerve-agent pesticides, which some scientists are blaming for the global decline of bee populations.
